The Florida Music Institute is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 2012 with the purpose of hosting a yearly Suzuki Summer Institute in Florida. Currently, FMI is the only Suzuki summer institute in Florida approved by the Suzuki Association of the Americas.
We serve Suzuki students and teachers in Florida, and welcome participants from as far as Alaska and Latin America!
2024 Summer Institute – Wednesday, June 12 to Saturday, June 15
The 2024 Summer Institute will be at Broadway United Methodist Church in the Lake Eola Heights Historical District. We are grateful to host the institute at this historical landmark in downtown Orlando.

FMI provides a learning community for music students, teachers, parents and others to explore talent education while improving the quality of life in Florida. This is done by implementing the philosophy of Shinichi Suzuki’s teachings using music education as a vehicle in fostering the development of the whole person.
